Ciência & Cultura (ISSN: 2317-6660) is a multidisciplinary, open-access journal of the Brazilian Society for the Progress of Science (Sociedade Brasileira para o Progresso da Ciência - SBPC). It aims to work in the communication of science and in the scenario of the great cultural themes of our time, identifying trends and approaching topics specific to knowledge and the dynamics of its cultural, scientific, and technological transformations. Its thematic editions combine science, culture, technology, innovation, art, and philosophy in stories told by scientists, journalists, and thinkers, informing and delighting the readers. Created in 1949, one year after the foundation of the SBPC, Ciência & Cultura is essential for scientific and cultural communication in Brazil. Its editorial line aims to contribute to the debate on today’s major scientific topics and attract the attention, especially of new generations of researchers, for a continuous and systematic reflection on these topics. Over seven decades, it has presented scientific communication aimed at the general public while seeking to communicate with the scientific community and specialized readers, becoming an essential tool for contemporary debates. Thus, it is one of the oldest publications of scientific communication and a landmark for the institutionalization of science in Brazil. The journal is published quarterly, and each issue approaches a topic from the point of view of science, culture, art, and philosophy. Every month, a new chapter is released, featuring articles, essays, news, opinion pieces, videos, podcasts, and much more. Abreviation: The abbreviation of its title is Cien.
